Pool heating
Pool heating is a vital part of pool ownership, especially if you live
in less pool-friendly climates. Heating your pool, whether using solar
or gas systems, can extend the swimming season two months in both directions
– you can start swimming two months earlier than if you didn’t
have a heater, and you can swim for two months longer in the fall.
If you’re paying for pool heating, you owe it yourself to buy
a pool cover to keep that heat in. The best pool covers are really solar
pool covers. The solar covers function as regular pool covers, but also
collect heat from the sun and re-distribute it back in the pool water.
A solar pool cover can amp up your pool heating by as much as 15 degrees.
That’s 15 degrees of free heat from the sun – not enough
to heat the entire pool by itself, but when used in concert with a heating
system, is a good investment.
